'Anything can happen over Coffee'

Coffee... that scintillating smell of rich black coffee beans, the aromas of hazel and cinnamon brewed to perfection... lattes, frappes, decaf, filter coffee... Refreshing...I am most definitely a coffee addict and i love coffee shops... after all 'Anything can happen over a coffee' and that most certainly did with moi!

I had just arrived in this bustling metropolitan capital and day 1 it was time to catch up with 'jobless' friends. We decided to head to one of the more 'popular' cafes right in the heart of urbania!
I say popular because as my friends and i stepped into our twenties much to our delight coffee shops were springing all over the neighborhood. it was the place to be for those of us on shoestring budgets and slim wallets and well the ambience of a coffee shop- who could complain... enough eye candy most times... lots of gossip and the sweet sweet smell of the coffee bean... mmmmmm.....

So getting back to my story... this li'l joint spread comfortably on two levels, seemed a tad bit crowded as we entered and scanned the room. So we took to the stairs and ten steps later comfortably plonked our cutesy rears on plush seats... and in that moment of getting comfortable a coffee boy, looking sullen and annoyed came up dusting the bannister. He dusted his way to our table and very sourly told us- YOO CANT SEET HERE. THEES SAICTION IS CLOSED, to which i began to argue that other people were seated here and thus began the RUDEST chapter in my coffee shop lounging history. 'Dusty' then very impudently turned his back to us and said,'WAIL-YOO CAN SIT HERE BUT NOWON WILL SERVE YOO'...

The audacity of 'Dusty' really made me get mad. I have been told that my patience level is set to zero tolerance for fools by many a friend and acquaintance. So huffily i went down asked to see the manager and was told they didnt have one- and so i bitterly complained of the unfairness of it all and that this was no way to treat customers to which i was given a meek apology and was somewhat pacified.

But, what can i say im a sucker for coffee shops and instead of heading out the door and looking for another one we decided to compromise our plush seats for something in the corner!
We ordered our drinks... our waiter who i shall name Mr. Beanpole took our order came back with it and hastily placed our drinks wrongly. Anyway i let that pass with a nasty look. And anyone who has ever been subjected to my nasty look well knows its NASTY.

Anyway merrily sipping along and catching up on lost time and gossip i get to sip a little piece of silver paper. I spat it out, still continuing with my drink when it happened the second time, at which point my dear friend called beanpole and asked him to take it back- he mumbled something about a replacement and well we chatted and talked and i watched my friend sip through her latte and finish her sandwich all the while waiting for the replacement, by which time we both had enough waiting.

Suffice it to say there was a big showdown a complaint was lodged and the replacement was brought as we were leaving. Not my day definitely but a lot can happen over coffee... the unpredictability of events is exciting and for day1 of a relaxing holiday this sure began with some chutzpah!!

Day2 lunchtime- i get a call from the area manager of the coffee shop (Soooo.... they did have a manager who was MIA the silly twit) After hearing my story and my obvious displeasure-he offered to ensure that i would have a really nice time if i ever decided to visit one of the coffee chains in that area again- LIKE YEAH RIGHT!

I love coffee but I'm not that Stupid!
